Evidence-based treatment (EBT) refers to types of treatment that are backed by scientific evidence. That is, studies have been conducted and extensive research has been documented on a particular treatment, and it has proven to be successful. The goal of EBT is to encourage the use of safe and effective treatments likely to achieve results and lessen the use of unproven, potentially unsafe treatments.
CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes and behaviors, improving the ability to regulate emotion and the development of personal coping skills that target solving current problems.
EMDR is a therapeutic approach that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.
